On September 7th, 2011, Seth and Elizabeth McCoin brought a pair of beautiful new babies into the world. Born three months prematurely, the boy was named Houston and the baby girl, Morgan.
Sadly, as is often the case with premie babies, the twins’ early birth took a devastating toll on their health. Houston passed away when he was just four days old. His sister Morgan followed nine months later.
Though they were only here for a short time, the McCoin siblings managed to touch the hearts of people from around the world. Through the family blog, hundreds of followers watched, waited and prayed with the family for a miracle.
“We were told that our babies’ story was inspiring and changing people, giving them hope,” said Seth.
Hope was something that Seth and Elizabeth did not want to lose. So after Morgan’s passing, the heartbroken parents set out to do something that would honor their children’s brave fight while helping other preemie babies have a better chance at life. Thus, the Houstons's Hope & Morgan's Miracles Foundation, also know as The Hope & Miracles Project, was born.
“Our kids didn’t have a chance to live long lives,” Seth says, “but they can continue to make a difference.”
